Question: If I rent a boat or Waverunner, do I still need to pay the Camp Edison Day Use fee?
Answer: Yes. Camp Edison charges $10.00 per car to enter the campground. That allows you access to their bathrooms, picnic tables, volleyball courts, showers, etc. Check with SC Edison upon arrival to see if such amenities are currently available.

Question: How does the security deposit work?

Answer:  Depending on the boat rented, the dollar amount of the deposit required at the time of rental will vary, and is separate from the actual rental rate. Deposits can be made by cash or credit/debit card. When using a debit card, the funds will be taken out of the cardholder's checking account prior to rental and returned in 5-7 business days (depending on your bank). When using a major credit card (Visa, MasterCard or Discover), credit limit will be lowered and will automatically fall off in 3-5 business days. EXCEPT CITI BANK CARDS. THEY WILL HOLD YOUR FUNDS FOR AN ENTIRE BILLING CYCLE. THIS IS A CITI BANK POLICY, NOT OURS. ALL BANKS VARY AND SHAVER LAKE MARINA HAS NO CONTROL OVER YOUR BANKS POLICY'S.  THE CARDHOLDER MUST BE PRESENT AT THE TIME OF RENTAL AND HAVE PROPER IDENTIFICATION.

Question: What is your cancellation policy?

Answer: Each reservation has a 48 hour cancellation policy. If you need to make changes or cancel, please call us at 559-841-5331 at least 48 hours PRIOR to your reservation. Failure to do so will result in a charge of the full rental rate.

Question: Can we tow a tube behind the boat?

Answer: Yes, we have many towables available on a first come, first serve basis. Only 10 and 12 passengers pontoon boats are allowed to tow. Prices range from $15.00 to $80.00 a day. If you choose to tow, there will be a $15.00-$30.00 tow fee added to your rental to account for the extra gas that gets used when you are towing.

Question: What is the difference between the 12 passenger 24ft pontoon, the 12 passenger premium pontoon, and the 12 passenger tow boat?

Answer: Our 12 passenger pontoon is our standard pontoon with a 50 horsepower motor. The 12 passenger premium is our newer 12 passenger with a 50 horsepower motor. Our 12 passenger tow boat has a 135 horsepower motor.

Question: How old do I need to be to rent a boat? And do I need any type of Certification or license? 

Answer: Due to insurance restrictions, renters must be at least 21 years of age in order to rent motorized boats and 18 years old to rent non-motorized water craft. There is no license or certification required to rent a boat. However, it’s a good idea to get your California Boaters Card, but it’s not required.

Question: When renting boats or Waverunners, do I have to pay for gas, or is that included in the rental?

Answer: On the Waverunners, when you pick it up the gas tank will be full. When you return it, we will fill the tank back up and you will only pay for what you used. (To give you an idea, the cost for a full tank of gas in a Waverunner is approximately $60) On the boats, we charge a flat fee depending on the length of time you are out. Here are the gas fees for boats (tow fees would be extra):

Pontoons:

2 Hours = $15

Half Day (am or pm) = $25

All Day = $30

Fishing Boats:

2 Hours = $5

Half Day (am or pm) = $10

All Day = $15

Question: Do you allow babies or toddlers on the boats?

Answer: Yes. We welcome children of all ages! Children 12 and under are required to wear a life vest at all times on the boats. We have all sizes of life vests available for infants, toddlers, kids, teens and adults.

Question: How do I make a reservation?

Answer: We now have all our reservations ONLINE. Just click the 'Make A Reservation' button. You can even book our non-motorized items like Paddle Boards, Kayaks, Canoes and Pedal Boats. If you have any trouble booking online please call us at: 559-841-5331.

Question: Do all the pontoon boats come equipped with ladders?

Answer: No, some boats have ladders and some don't. It can be a timing issue. If someone breaks one of our ladders, and we are unable to replace it immediately, it could go out to the next guest with no ladder. We do our best, but cannot always provide ladders. If your boat doesn't have a ladder, we recommend you swim from the beach or make sure there is an adequate way to get back in the boat.
